New Jersey Lawyers Service (NJLS) has adopted a set of information management guidelines, which serve as the basis for our customer and advertiser relationships. These guidelines disclose the privacy policies, terms and conditions of use for the NJLS Web site. Throughout this document, the words, "Customer", "Subscriber", and "User" are used frequently and interchangeably and all refer to You, the person, firm, company or other entity using the NJLS Website, its services or otherwise doing business with, or considering doing business with, NJLS. Please be advised that no employee or agent of NJLS has the power, either express or implied, to alter, amend, modify, remove relax or relieve from operation any policy, term or condition set forth herein. All policies, terms and conditions are subject to change without notice. All changes will be updated and posted on this page.

Privacy Policies

Protection of Customer Information

We understand the importance of privacy to our customers. We will not give or sell confidential or personal information about our customer to any third party not affiliated with their transaction, except as required by law or as necessary to provide services to the customer. We will, however, share your information, as necessary, with certain strategic partners who help us to provide both benefits and services to you, including those who administer our Preferred Partners Rewards Program. Some of the information collected by NJLS are names, addresses, e-mail addresses, credit card numbers and telephone numbers, and case information. We also collect telephone numbers and e-mail addresses in the event that we have to contact the shipper, or the shipment recipient or addressee, to resolve a question or provide shipment status information.

We collect and store information about every package we handle so that we can efficiently provide the package delivery services demanded by our customers. We use information about our customers, their packages, and their shipping activity to provide or enhance the services we make available to our customers, communicate with our customers about additional services they may find of value, satisfy our legitimate business interests, set prices, establish credit, accomplish the billing function, and provide the best possible customer service experience.

Shipment Information

Information, including Personal Information, provided as part of a shipping transaction represents a record of that business transaction and cannot be altered after the transaction is complete. Although we make reasonable efforts to limit access to our facilities and vehicles to authorized personnel, we are not responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of information that is printed and placed in plain view on a package or letter.

Security and Integrity of Information

We treat our data as assets that must be protected against loss and unauthorized access. We employ information security techniques to appropriately protect confidential information from unauthorized access by users inside and outside the company. Access to customer information is limited to those employees who have a legitimate business need for that information.

We employ generally accepted information security techniques such as firewalls, access control procedures and cryptography to appropriately protect confidential information from unauthorized access.

Retention of Customer Information

We retain information, including personal information, about customers as necessary for business purposes and as required by government regulation. For example, we retain information about packages, including names and addresses, so that we can provide proof of delivery information and to process claim requests. We periodically dispose of records and delete information when required retention periods expire, but may also archive information for future reference and research.

Links to Other Sites

NJLS may provide links to external sites as a convenience to the user. The inclusion of any link does not imply an endorsement of the external site company, its web site, or the products and services it promotes and sells. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such web sites.

IP Addresses

NJLS also logs IP addresses for systems administration and troubleshooting purposes. (Your IP address indicates the location of your computer on the Internet.) We do not log IP addresses to track your session, nor do we link IP addresses to anything personally identifiable. What does NJLS.com do with the information it gathers and/or tracks? Statistical Analysis NJLS.com may perform statistical analyses of user behavior in order to measure interest in the various areas of our site for product development purposes.

NJLS also includes an address book that allows users to enter the names and addresses of the people to whom they frequently ship packages or letters. Use of the address book is optional. It is provided as a convenience so that users will not have to re-enter frequently used address information. The address information provided is stored in a secure manner on our systems. While it is stored in the address book, we will carefully protect the confidentiality of this information. It will not be used for any purpose other than the original intent (i.e. speeding up user shipping activities).

Anonymous Information

NJLS may also gather anonymous information, which may be used by NJLS. This is information which does not personally identify you, but which may be helpful for improving the services we offer. Generally this information is collected through "traffic data" and may entail the use of "cookies," "IP addresses," or other numeric codes used to identify a computer.

Cookies

NJLS employs cookies to recognize you and your access privileges on certain sites, as well as to track site usage. Subscribers who do not accept cookies from the domain cannot access all areas of NJLS web sites. For detailed information about our use of cookies, please contact us, using our e-mail form.

E-Mail

Using the e-mail addresses provided at registration, we periodically send e-mails announcing enhancements to services offered by NJLS. We may also contact you regarding account status, changes to the subscriber agreement, and to confirm registration. Additionally, the Administrator of our Preferred Partners Rewards Program may also contact you at your email address for matters related to your participation in said program and their ability to fulfill the benefits provided.

Data Security

To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the appropriate use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to protect the information we collect online.

Communication with NJLS Not Confidential

Because an attorney/client relationship is not created by use of NJLS.com, any communication with NJLS.com or its content providers does not establish an attorney/client relationship and/or privilege.

Assent

Your continued use of this site signifies your assent to the NJLS Privacy Policy. We reserve the right, at our discretion, to modify, add, or remove portions of this policy at any time by posting the revised policy at the NJLS Web Site. Please check this page periodically for changes.

Opting-Out, Corrections and Cancellations

Upon request, NJLS will (a) remove you and your personal information from our Website user database, thereby canceling your registration; (b) correct personal information that you state is erroneous; or (c) permit you to "opt out" of further e-mail contact (excepting notification of major changes to the service) while still allowing access to the site. We reserve the right, at our discretion, to change, modify, add, or delete portions of these terms and conditions at any time, without prior notice. All changes will be updated and posted on this page. Your continued use of this Site or any other NJLS site following the posting of changes to these terms and conditions will mean you accept those changes.

Registration

You agree to (a) provide true, accurate, current and complete information about yourself, including mailing and email address, as prompted by the registration form and (b) maintain and promptly update the registration data to keep it true, accurate, current and complete. If you provide any information that is untrue, inaccurate, not current or incomplete or NJLS has reasonable grounds to suspect that such information provided is untrue, inaccurate, not current or incomplete, NJLS has the right to suspend or terminate your account and refuse any and all current or future use of the service (or any portion thereof). Additionally, NJLS may terminate your access to the Website, and its services, at any time, without notice, for any reason or no reason at all, so long as such reason is not otherwise prohibited by applicable law.

Credit Purchases, Invoices and Payments

Failure to provide required Registration information will result in NJLS rejecting an application for credit and other billing considerations or arrangements. All credit requests are subject to review, and acceptance or rejection by NJLS, which decision is final in its sole discretion. NJLS reserves the right to reject a subscriber for credit or other billing consideration for any cause and without reason. By making a purchase, whether by use of an accepted credit card or through the extension of credit to you by NJLS, you agree to, represent and warrant the following (i) any credit information you supply is true and complete; (ii) you are authorized to use whatever credit card you use for payment; and (iii) to pay all amounts accrued in your account, as invoiced, at the prevailing rates and customary charges posted thereon (including charges incurred by others to whom you have given access of your account), together with a finance charge on all unpaid balances which remain unpaid after 15 days from the invoice date. Said finance charge shall accrue at the greater of 1.5% per month, or the highest rate permitted by law; and shall continue to accrue monthly on any and all unpaid balances until payment in full is received by NJLS. Your ability to purchase is also subject to limits established by NJLS or your credit card issuer. In the event NJLS is required to bring legal action against you for the collection of unpaid balances due and owing to NJLS, in addition to such unpaid balances and accrued finance charges, you agree to be responsible for NJLS's costs and fees necessary and incident to such legal action, including reasonable attorney fees. NJLS may, in its sole discretion, decline service to you or terminate your account without notice for your failure to make timely payment.

Authorized Users and Permitted Access

Only You and your employees, temporary employees, student interns, associates, partners/members, and contractors dedicated to performing work exclusively for you (to the extent those categories of persons are appropriate to your situation) or others to whom you grant specific permission are eligible to access and use the NJLS Website ("Eligible Persons"). The term "Authorized User" means an Eligible Person whom you have identified to NJLS for purposes of issuing an NJLS User ID and Password (hereafter "NJLS ID") and in connection with your NJLS Monthly Billing Account. Each Eligible Person who wishes to access the NJLS Website must have a unique NJLS ID and thus become an Authorized User. You agree that each NJLS ID may only be used by the Authorized User to whom NJLS assigns and that the NJLS ID may not be shared with or used by any other person, including other Authorized Users. You will manage your roster of Authorized Users and will promptly notify NJLS, either through the online account management utilities created for that purpose or by direct customer service communication, to deactivate an Authorized User's NJLS ID if the Authorized User is no longer an Eligible Person or you otherwise wish to terminate the Authorized User's access to the NJLS Website and Materials. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL USE OF THE NJLS WEBSITE ACCESSED WITH NJLS IDS ISSUED TO YOUR AUTHORIZED USERS WHO ARE CONNECTED TO YOUR NJLS MONTHLY BILLING ACCOUNT, INCLUDING ASSOCIATED CHARGES AND SUR-CHARGES, WHETHER INCURRED BY AUTHORIZED USERS OR OTHERS. You will use reasonable commercial efforts to prevent unauthorized use of NJLS IDs assigned to your Authorized Users and will promptly notify NJLS, in writing, if you suspect that such an NJLS ID is lost, stolen, compromised, or misused.

Restrictions on Use of Materials

Unless otherwise noted, all materials, including images, illustrations, designs, icons, photographs, video clips, and other materials that are uniquely part of this web site or any other NJLS web site are copyrights, trademarks, trade dress and/or other intellectual properties owned, controlled or licensed by NJLS. No material from this web site may be copied, reproduced, republished, uploaded, posted, transmitted, or distributed in any way, except that you may download one copy of the materials on any single computer for your personal, non-commercial use only, provided you keep intact all copyright and other proprietary notices.

Modification of the materials or use of the materials for any other purpose is a violation of NJLS's copyright and other proprietary rights. NJLS may terminate the account of any user that engages in any conduct tending to interfere with, or interrupt, operation of the web site, as determined solely by NJLS.

Delays

NJLS.com services and information is subject to interruption and delay. The User acknowledges that this is not an error free environment and that some forms of electronic transactions need substantial lead-time for the transmissions of information. NJLS.com shall not be liable to the User for interruption and delays.

Indemnification

User will indemnify and hold harmless New Jersey Lawyers Service, LLC, its members, directors, officers, employees, and agents, as well as all such equivalents at any parent or subsidiary company from and against any and all direct or indirect losses, claims, demands, expenses (including attorneys' fees), or liabilities of whatever nature or kind arising out of User's access to the services, use of or distribution of information provided by the NJLS Website.

Force Majeure

Our delivery of services through the NJLS Website is subject to interruption and delay which may be due to causes beyond our reasonable control, such as acts of God, acts of any government, war or other hostility, civil disorder, the elements, fire, explosion, power failure, failure of equipment not under the control of either party, transmission line or communications failure or unavailability, industrial or labor dispute, inability to obtain necessary supplies and the like.
